What is TILT?

TILT is a dance project over six years (2015-2020) supported by The Savings Bank Foundation DNB. The goal is to make large parts of the country dance. Panta Rei Danseteater leads TILT and cooperates with six regional theaters and other major performing arts institutions over the project period. They create a new production for a tour every year. The tours are followed by tailored dance projects in each municipality and each city.

Dance is art - dance is unifying - dance creates joy

TILT will both provide good art experiences, create joy for dance and be the starting point for discussions and conversations. TILT will "demystify" dance and give ownership to an art form that is still fnew for many people. We want to create an understanding of what dance is and that dance is for everyone! By gathering both professionals, children and young people, the elderly and the general population of the regions through dance we want to create engagement and new arenas to express themselves.

So far, TILT has been in Østfold (2015), in Innlandet (2016) and in Oslo and Buskerud (2017). The dance projects have been many and varied; Performances, movies, dance workshops, seminars and site-specific choreographies are some of things the more than 50,000 people who have participated in TILT so far have experienced.

PRD has received support for three new years with TILT: Oslo and Midt Norge (2018), Innlandet (2019) and Akershus (2020). In these years, the company collaborates with Dansens Hus, DansiT and Teater Innlandet.

In 2016 TILT is coming to "innlandet". In relation to the performances there will be carried out specially fitted projects for the local communities during the tour.

The projects will mainly target the children and youth, but will of course be available for the whole population. TILT's first stop was Østfold in 2015.
